When I started building Doomscroll 2077, I needed to understand what made players keep coming back. Not out of addiction, but out of genuine curiosity: what did I earn while I was gone?
The Core Loop
Doomscroll 2077 runs on a simple but powerful loop:
- Earn Passively - Credits accumulate every second, even offline
- Return & Tap - Player comes back, sees growth, clicks to multiply
- Upgrade Systems - Each purchase unlocks new earning mechanisms
- Prestige (AURA) - Reset and restart with permanent multipliers
- Repeat - The cycle never ends, just scales
This isn't exploitation. This is meaningful progression.
Why Cyberpunk?
The Cyberpunk 2077 theme isn't random. Doomscroll captures something real - the anxiety of endless information, the dopamine hit of notifications, the addiction to scrolling. But instead of critiquing it, the game celebrates it as empire-building.

The Numbers
In early builds, I tested three different progression curves:
- Too fast: Players hit a wall in 15 minutes, felt abandoned
- Too slow: Players felt like they were paying to progress
- Just right: New features unlock every 3-5 minutes
The sweet spot? Exponential growth with constant unlocks. Every tap should feel valuable. Every milestone should feel earned.
